A bit about me:
I grew up in a small town outside of Louisville, Kentucky. I have a B.S. degree in Legal Studies, and an M.A. in Sociology. After my graduating in 2012, I moved to Oklahoma City as a Teach for America corps member, and dedicated the next six years of my career to education (two in the classroom, two as an instructional coach, and two as an administrator at a charter school in Denver, CO) . I ultimately found that a career in education was not for me, and pivoted to working at a tech company as a program manager in 2018.
When I am not working, I am with my beautiful wife, Lauren, who is still the best classroom teacher in the world (I may be biased here) and our sweet Golden Retriever, Otis. We love going on adventures together, and love that we both have work that provides us with opportunities to pursue our personal passions–which is mostly hanging out with Otis, because he’s such a good boy.
I am most passionate about improvement. From self improvement to process improvement to home improvement. I am addicted to improvement. I LOVE working on teams where problems are complex, learning curves are steep, and timelines are short. In my time, and in my many roles, I have experienced many setbacks and failures, but sheer will and stubbornness to “figure it out” and keep asking questions until I do has served me well. A curious mind is a glorious mind. Thanks for joining me here as I share some anecdotes, stories, smiles, laughs, and hopefully some lessons you can take away. Bear with me and my own slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.
